Payment of Tuition and Fees

TUAoffers programs that can take several years to complete. These programs have terms of four month or less and are designed to be completed in one term. TUA charges by the term and requires payment of all tuition and fees by the first day of instruction of each term.

For those programs designed to be longer than one quarter, an institution shall not require more than one term of advance payment of tuition at a time. When 50 percent of the total degree program has been completed, the institution may require full payment

At the studentís option, TUAmay accept payment in full for tuition and fees, for an entire program of study including any funds received through institutional loans, after the student has been accepted and enrolled and the date of the first class session is disclosed on the enrollment agreement

Payment of tuition and fees can be made by paper check, wire transfer, Visa*, and MasterCard*. Payment must be in US currency. Payments are due prior to the start of the Quarter. Payments received will be counted toward studentís current and outstanding tuition and fees. Non-financial aid refunds will only be issued to students whose account does not have a current and outstanding tuition and fee balances.

* There is a 3% service fee for credit cards.

Cancellation and Withdrawal Policies

The term cancellation is defined as wishing to cancel the Enrollment Agreement. The student has the right to cancel the Enrollment Agreement and obtain a refund of charges paid before the first lesion and materials are received. Cancellation is effective on the date written notice of cancellation is sent. I the institution sent the first lesson and materials before an effective cancellation notice was received, the institution shall make a refund within 30 days after the student's return of the materials.

The term withdrawal is defined the studentís desire cancel the Enrollment Agreement to leave the educational program prior to finishing the educational program. This could be for any reason that would prevent the student from continuing the course work at the university. Or, withdrawal from the university due to misconduct or other violations of the universityís policies as determined by the university.

Full Refund

The student that wishes to cancel the Enrollment Agreement will receive a refund of all tuition and fees with the exception of the Registration Fee. The Registration Fee is non-refundable and is paid at the initial enrollment of the student. Notice of Cancellation may be given as a letter (regular mail), email, or fax. Date of cancellation will be the date of the post office cancellation for regular mail, the date of receipt for email and fax communications. The student has up to and including the receipt of the class materials or first day the course is offered after signing the Enrollment Agreement whichever is comes first to notify the university of cancellation. A full refund will be paid within 30 days after receipt of your notification.

Pro Rata Refund

A student who wishes to withdraw from a program of study after participating in the first day of instruction, or is withdrawn by the university, is entitled to a pro rata refund. The pro rata refund is the tuition you have paid for the course or program you have yet to receive. Notification of withdrawal may be given as a letter (regular mail), email, or fax. Date of withdrawal will be the date of the post office cancellation for regular mail, the date of receipt for email and fax communications. A pro rata refund will be paid within 30 days after receipt of your notification or 30 days after the university notifies you that you are withdrawn.

Example of a Pro-Rata Refund

A pro rata refund will not pay you a refund after you receive 60% of the course or program tuition. As an example, letís say you have enrolled on a three unit accounting course. Your tuition is $110.00 per unit. Total tuition is $330.00. You have completed 45% or the course work as determined by the lesson and work products you have submitted. You have not received 55% of the course so your pro rata refund is $330 times .55 which equals $181.50 refund.

Financial Aid

TUA does not offer any Federal or State financial aid.

Student Loan

If a student obtains a loan to pay for their educational program, the student will have to repay the full amount of the loan plus interest, less the amount of any refund.
